Strategic Procurement Services team is responsible for identifying the best supplier, leading negotiations and finalizing the delivery of a product or service to the bank. The team also maintains high quality documents and contracts issued to suppliers to avoid any delay in delivery.

They are currently seeking an experienced procurement SME to join the Strategic Procurement Services (SPS), Operations, Source to Contract team. The Source to Contract – Strategic Souring Manager, Strategic Procurement Services, will lead and drive the delivery of the SPS Sourcing strategy, driving new opportunities and enhanced value benefits for the Global Businesses and Functions across the Bank, whilst ensuring adopting and applying best practices, market and industry insights to drive the best Sourcing solution to meet requirements.

As Source to Contract – Strategic Sourcing Manager, Strategic Procurement Services you will be responsible
for:

  • Delivering strategic support to the Strategic Procurement Services (SPS) function in the execution of Source to Contract (S2C) services under the leadership of the Global Head of Source to Contract.
  • Providing Source to Contract deep subject matter expertise to the function, often leading/co-leading complex Sourcing activities through to delivery.
  • Owning and delivering the SPS Savings pipeline, assisting SPS to drive opportunities and enhanced value benefits for the Global Businesses/Global Functions.
  • Sharing and driving Sourcing strategic best practices
  • Understanding (and application) of commercial and procurement methodology e.g. Strategic Sourcing
  • Developing and maintaining related S2C policies, procedures, and training materials.
  • Ensuring Performance Metrics are met by proactively identifying performance issues and opportunities and developing effective plans to mitigate issues/utilise opportunities when they arise.
  • Providing MI to support oversight of global SPS Sourcing Performance.

Key Accountabilities:
Impact on Business

  • The Strategic Sourcing Manager will support in driving the right business outcomes with subject matter expertise during the execution of projects and will support the local business in ensuring that the outputs of sourcing projects are embedded in the business to drive value through the contract lifecycle.
  •  Although not responsible for Category Strategies and Commodity plans, the Strategic Sourcing Manager will work with the Global Category Managers in monitoring local market conditions and will work with Category Management regarding emerging opportunities or changes.
  • Ensure maximum contractual protection for the business, taking into account the Procurement Handbook requirements and local regulatory issues
  • Implement the appropriate buying channel and with Supplier Risk Management (SRM), the appropriate supplier management approach for all projects assigned.
  • The role will assist in ensuring that businesses have operational accountability for contracts after signature and work with the Third Party Manager to drive appropriate deployment of the supplier relationship management framework.
  • Support in the delivery of robust reports on progress against targets and buying channel compliance.

  • In the execution of sourcing projects, assist in instilling a responsive and strategic service and delivery culture, which makes business stakeholders value Procurement.
  • Support in the application of a range of sourcing approaches, including the use of eSourcing, to deliver the most appropriate business outcomes.
  • Influence the business and act as pathfinder for business (including Legal) and supply market relationships.
  • Support Category Management as required in the development and review of robust, forward-looking category plans based on business and product needs, supply market dynamics, and technological changes in marketplace.
  • Foster and build relationships with key stakeholders and business partners as relevant to role.

The role Source to Contract – eSourcing Manager, Strategic Procurement Services requires the role holder to:

  • Achieve or exceed agreed savings target for each sourcing project.
  • Provide support in the negotiation and agreement of terms and conditions for all projects.
  • Manage all initiatives to a robust plan in alignment with business/process milestones.
  • Demonstrate understanding of complex business problems, apply advanced analytical thinking / market knowledge and drive the most appropriate business outcome.
  • Ensure project data (savings, pipeline, milestones, risks, and issues and all other appropriate data sources) is accurate and reflective of reality.
  • Ensure quality of content and compliance with relevant sourcing governance forums (challenge boards,
    and status meetings)
  • Provide guidance and support to the non-strategic work team to ensure all projects are completed efficiently and in compliance with country requirements.
  • Drive the usage of e-Procurement tools and manage an interface with offshore support teams.

Requirements:

  • Procurement experience and deep subject matter expertise in the end-to-end Sourcing to Contract process, including category management
  • Robust negotiation skills
  • Stakeholder management skills
  • Understanding of the procurement role context in the organization via cooperation with multiple internal
    functions and teams
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Experience of various Source to Contract Procurement toolsets
  • Good understanding of contract language, standard clauses, types of contracts
  • Knowledge and understanding of the types of buying channels and ability to provide a guidance to internal stakeholders on that matter
  • Fluent German and English
