About the position:
The department where Data Privacy Manager will be, was established to transform our Client’s company into a truly data-driven organization by ensuring that every design decision has a built-in data consideration. Together with the team, you will provide leadership that enables data and analytics to be a key driver of their business strategy.
The Cookies subject matter expert (SME) will report to the Head of Group Data Privacy & Transfers and will support our Client’s cookie management process globally.

What you’ll do:
- Provide advice and guidance to Head of Group Data Privacy & Transfers on best practice governing cookies and similar technologies globally. In that context, the SME will have the support of our Client’s Privacy teams (and others) globally, regionally and locally.
- Act as the subject matter expert on cookies and similar technologies advising globally on requirements and overseeing compliance.
- Proactively review processes and procedures on an ongoing basis and advise on potential enhancements.
- Oversee and our Client’s compliance with cookies laws globally, including Consent Logging Solutions, Scanning and maintenance of the cookies register.
- Support cookies BAU team with investigation and understanding of root causes and purposes of different trackers.
- Troubleshoot and fix scans when they fail or need to be modified.
- Report to Privacy Forums and management on compliance status, risks, issues and remediation.
- Advise on and create alerts on Consent Logging Solution dashboards.
- Identify issues, advise on remediation, report as appropriate and track progress to conclusion.
- As owner of the dashboards, have a comprehensive understanding of the data and data flows feeding dashboards and undertaking data cleansing as required.
- Communicate with stakeholders, identify where and why the process has failed, ensure gaps are patched.
- Ensure documentation including Cookies playbook is comprehensive and up to date.
- Support the website/app management teams in establishing tagging on their websites/apps.
- Support the website/app management teams in remediation following issue being identified.

What you need to have to succeed in this role:
- Excellent analytics skills to help BAU teams track down root cause of certain trackers, their purpose and what needs to be done to fix issues.
- Non-technical as well as technical problem solving skills.
- Communication to different levels of stakeholders with the ability to simplify complexity to the level needed.
- Tag management understanding is required. Tealium is the preferred tag management tool.
- JavaScript experience.
- Can-do attitude.
- Ability to work on your own and in teams.
- Time management, prioritisation and organisation skills to manage multiple initiatives at the same time.
- Big picture vision with a tactical as well as strategic vision into the future.
- Google Looker or similar visualising tool experience as well as SQL.
- Knowledge of Google BigQuery and other databases.
- Packet sniffing tools like Fiddler/Charles Proxy.
- Jira and Confluence set up and experience.
- Experience with cookie Consent Management Systems.
