QA Team Lead

For our client we are looking for a Quality Assurance Team Lead to join Engineering team in Krakow or remotely. You and your team will be working closely with engineers and technology leaders, helping them to bake quality assurance processes into software development lifecycle. You will promote best practises and foster QA culture with relevant tools and techniques. This is a hands-on role in which you’re expected to lead by example and requires strong technical skills.

The company have three hubs, in London, Krakow and Amsterdam, employing more than 170 people. They are a fun-loving team who really believe in the company mission and proud that they are making a difference in the world.

You will focus on:

  • Leading and mentoring a team of QA engineers of various specialities (web, mobile, backend)
  • Building and executing strategy for QA function to assure high quality standards in the engineering department
  • Leading the way to implement new set of quality assurance processes
  • Choosing and hands-on implementing the right tooling for cross-platform quality assurance
  • Advocating for quality, upskilling engineers and engineering managers, supporting development teams with adaptation of new quality assurance tools, building testing plans and strategies
  • Hands on delivery of more complex test cases, coaching and pairing with engineers


  • Leadership experience
  • Programming skills and experience with Java or other programming language on JVM to the extent of being able to freely use test automation tools
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience as QA Engineer or Software Engineer
  • Good understanding of QA best practises on backend – TDD, BDD, testing pyramid
  • Experience in writing automated tests of backend applications (monoliths, microservices)
  • Experience with creating test frameworks and testing tools
  • Strong influencer with good communication skills able and willing to challenge status quo
  • Proactive and self-driven, taking ownership of what you do
  • Passion for technology and delivering quality with “automate first” approach
  • Advanced English – you will be cooperating with international teams

Nice to have:

  • Understanding of QA best practises across web, mobile and infrastructure
  • Experience with version control systems (preferably GIT)
