Job Overview

Our client’s Data Engineer are responsible for developing, optimizing and standardizing data assets/new projects which add value to their company. Their Data Engineer carry a unique position whereby they are involved in all aspects of the data assets development process from gathering requirements, preparing data to final reporting using Data Visualization techniques or working with Front-End developers. Working as a Data Engineer in TE means exposure to the business in working with key stakeholders in addition to diving deep into technical work, with the goal to continually add value and help to strengthen the team. Data Engineer is working closely with Business Intelligence Analyst to deliver project with expected business values.

The Analytics team at TE is part of the TE Information Solutions (TEIS) Organization and is responsible for driving organic growth by leveraging big data and advanced analytics.

You will be working on problems that require advanced analytics applications to create value for diverse business functions such as supply chain, pricing, digital marketing and sales growth, and will impact business units that span through multiple geographic areas.


  • Work with stakeholders/ACOE Team members to identify reporting needs, metrics and systems.
  • Support the modeling and creation of datasets using Python and/or SQL to be then used for self-service dashboard reports. Have deep knowledge of all the datasets inside the data lake to be able to provide guidance to other engineers and/or stakeholders
  • Streamline data preparation and processes for maximum automation and efficiency whilst supporting environment migrations where required
  • Analyze, organize, segment and disseminate raw or unprocessed data based on business needs
  • Be the key anchor for data extraction, preparation and hosting processes
  • Create master data files from disparate data sources by building data pipeline
  • Develop and test architecture for data extraction
  • Provide continuous connectivity to a master data source and access to refreshed data
  • Ensure data quality and reliability
  • Data expert for datasets


  • 2-3 years of hands-on data engineering experience
  • Advanced SQL RDBMS design and query building skills (Oracle, SQL Server, Redshift, etc.)
  • Sound knowledge of ETL practices.
  • Coding experience Python
  • Unix or other shell scripting, and exposure to job scheduling software such as Control-M
  • Attention to detail and logical based thinking in building, testing, and reviewing data pipelines containing multi-disciplinary information
  • Commitment to build using established coding and naming standards
  • Strong problem solver who can invent new techniques and approaches if necessary
  • Exposure to systems like ERP system (SAP), Salesforce.com, etc.
  • Visualization tool experience like with Tableau or Power BI
