About the role:

You will play a critical role in defining and executing our technology strategy, driving innovation, and overseeing the development and delivery of cutting-edge solutions. You will be responsible for leading a diverse team of technologists and engineers, fostering a culture of excellence, and ensuring the successful implementation of projects across the organization. Additionally, you will provide in-country on the ground leadership support across the Poland Technology Centre, driving all Global Private Banking and Wealth (GPB&W) engineering activities in Poland on behalf of the GPB&W CTO and extended leadership team.

What you’ll do:

  • Help drive the Engineering Strategy of Global Private Banking and Wealth (GPB&W) to focus on Cloud, API, SRE, Digital Platform and foster innovation programmes across the domain teams supporting GPB&W.
  • Ensure high quality code and data, good practices, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide specialist technical knowledge and experience, championing DevOps and Agile practices.
  • Monitor and improve engineers’ productivity.
  • Provide support in identification and resolution of all incidents associated with the IT service.
  • Ensure service resilience, service sustainability and recovery time objectives are met for all the software solutions delivered.
  • Keep up to date and have expertise on current tools, technologies and areas like cyber security and regulations pertaining to aspects like data privacy, consent, data residency etc. that are applicable.
  • Provide training and development opportunities where required.

What you need to succeed in the role:

  • 10-15 years or more overall IT experience with Knowledge Java, Cloud technologies such as AWS.
  • Experience with Java, web based technologies (JavaScript framework, HTML5, CSS).
  • Experience of Web Services (REST, SOAP). Knowledge of XML, JSON, and Swagger.
  • Skills and capabilities in API Architecture and API Engineering with in-depth knowledge of key technologies such as REST, API Gateways and Management Platforms, Cloud-native stack.
  • Expertise in using Spring Boot to build and design API’s is recommended.
  • Strong hands-on technical background that can be demonstrated within the teams on the ground.
  • Ability to make technical decisions by staying abreast of advancements in related technologies.
  • Excellent knowledge of the project lifecycle, and Agile / DevOps software engineering models, an Agile & DevOps evangelist who can help mature the organization.
