What you’ll do:
  • Support the ESG Financial Controller and will work with senior business and finance stakeholders in driving and delivering the Group’s ESG agenda.
  • Work in an area of growing interest to regulators, investors, and the wider external market.
  • Assist the ESG Financial Controller in discharging risk owner responsibilities, in particular, the Net-Zero agenda. The role holder will also help in the delivery of the Global Finance related ESG outcomes and coordination within sub-functions within Finance.
  • Review and challenge of non-financial data. This includes but is not limited to: work across the Sustainability, Chief Data Office and Finance Change Delivery teams, enhance assurance framework and work with 1LOD and 2LOD teams to ensure delivery of enhanced verification and assurance.
  • Review of ESG content within the Group’s Interim and Annual Reports.
  • Manage operational aspects of disclosures including management and PWC query log, legal comments and liaising with contributors across business and function to reflect in the final disclosures.
  • Support/consult/engage with key stakeholders in Group including driving the delivery of certain new metrics as a result of new regulations and commitments.


What you need:
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience within Finance at a major institution, ideally with experience of managing
    business performance and new reporting requirements.
  • Quantitative degree, ideally with professional education in Finance (Qualified Accountant).
  • Good understanding of the topic of ESG, in particular climate.
  • Commercial outlook – able to connect numbers, performance drivers and ‘real world’ events.
  • Deep knowledge of the company’s business strategy, operations and structure.
  • Highly-motivated, diligent, collaborative, personable and capable of working independently and exercising
  • Project management skills, including creating lean processes and governance structures.
  • Able to prioritise tasks, resolve problems and respond effectively to emerging issues.
