• Unlock. Value is unlocked when deliver on the opportunities well-managed data presents e.g. improving customer / colleague experience, increasing revenue, commercialising data, optimising capital, enhancing risk management or reducing costs.

The Senior Data Governance Manager primarily supports the Protect pillar of the strategy.

Key priorities include:

• Development, management and governance of data control artefacts that support the data control library

• establishment of effective governance practices that ensure artefacts reflect best practice as required by regulators and customers

Key responsibilities include some of but not limited to:

• Lead the development, management and governance of data control artefacts that support the data control library

• Lead the establishment of effective governance practices that ensure artefacts reflect best practice as required by regulators and customers.

• Lead the development, management and governance of data metrics including key control, performance and risk indicators in collaboration with Group Data Management.

• Lead in driving change and transformation programmes to optimise data risk management assessment, reporting and monitoring.

• Manage the implementation of data governance and quality guidelines, procedures, methods etc.

• Manage and ensure good practices in the management of data tools, standards, frameworks and templates

• Management and monitoring of operational risk in the field of data management

  Leadership & Teamwork

• Overall responsibility for supervising a department or a business unit/area team, or manages delivery for most complex assignments

• Provides motivational leadership, sets team performance expectations and monitors progress

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Understanding of Data Management including some exposure to data governance, architecture, definition, quality and lineage

• Project / change management – stakeholder management, capturing requirements, agile delivery, sprint scrum planning, test planning,  progress tracking and reporting to senior management

OPTIONAL/NICE TO HAVE

• Broad understanding and experience of working cross businesses and functions for a large global bank

• Some regulatory implementation / reporting exposure preferred, such as BCBS 239

• Some understanding of operational risk management preferred
